I'm personally still wary/paranoid about messing with the moving or copying of memories digitally. I instantly jump to the idea that if my memories were moved out of my body and into another (species of the body aside), this body would think they are me, but aren't.
The me me... is still in the old body. Which if anything lead me to moving my memories, maybe it was because it was dying. So I could then end up observing postmortem this pretender continuing my life.

EDIT: Of course what you're referring to is less my own memories, and more what people remember of me. The me that exists in the memories of others. Can I trust it, if it were to continue my existence? What about the me here, or wherever it may go later?
